살아있는 물, 깊이 듣기

클라리시 리스펙토르의 실험적 소설 아구아 비바 Agua Viva는 단어 그대로를 직역하면 '살아 있는 물'로 번역되고, 일반적으로는 해파리를 의미한다.
이 두 가지 의미에는 공통점이 있다. 뼈대가 없다는 것이다. 살아 있는 물은 뼈대 즉 특정한 형태를 강제하는 구조가 존재하지 않는 자유로운 세계이며, 그 살아 있는 물에 몸을 맡기고 흘러가는 해파리는 그 세계와 가장 닮은 개체다. '아구아 비바'라는 제목은 이 둘을 동시에 지칭 혹은 포괄한다.

형태로부터 자유로운 것, 심지어 세계인 동시에 개체인 것을 그리기.
즉 모든 구조와 경계를 넘어선 그 무엇을 기록하려는 (불가능한) 시도. 보이지 않지만 느껴지는 것들에 주의를 기울여 본다.

2024년 봄과 여름에 걸쳐 언러닝스페이스는 물과 몸을 통해 전해지는 이야기, 인간을 넘어선 존재들과의 공명, 신화와 노래소리, 과거와 현재, 대안적 세계를 함께 '듣는' 행위에 대해 사유해볼 수 있는 교차학제적 예술연구실험을 시도합니다.

레지던시 기간: 구글폼에 제시된 기간 중 약 1주 (추후 확정)
장소: 제주 언러닝스페이스
제공 내용 : 언러닝스페이스 숙박공간 및 작업공간, 제주항공권

레지던시 결과물: 3분이상 30분이내 사운드 파일, 아티스트 노트 (소개, 설명 등의 내용을 담은 텍스트 혹은 이미지)

형식: 필드레코딩 / 인터뷰, 대화 / 사운드 아트, 작곡 / 사운드 아트, 작곡 / 플레이리스트, 믹스 / 낭독 등 자유 형식

'듣는 행위'에 대한 실험을 하고자 하는 예술가 및 연구자를 대상으로 합니다.
에코페미니즘, 하이드로 페미니즘, 포스트휴머니즘적 미학, 역사-미래주의, 문화인류학과 에스노그라피, 신화, 민담 및 구술사의 특별한 교차점 중 하나 이상에 대한 흥미나 경험이 있는 분들을 환영합니다.
사라지는 것을 몸으로 기억하고 전달하는 방법 및 기술에 대한 실험의 일부로 사운드, 오디오 및 라디오 아카이브를 통해 이러한 주제의 의미와 영향에 몰입해 볼 수 있는 형식적 실험도 환영합니다.
레지던시 기간 후 만들어주신 결과물은 언러닝스페이스 라디오 프로젝트 웹사이트에 개재할 예정입니다.
다른 분들의 작업 결과물과 함께 추후 전시 혹은 음감회 등을 통해 하반기에 공유 예정입니다.

Artistic Research
Radio Residency

About
Throughout the spring and summer of 2024, Unlearning Space will experiment an interdisciplinary artistic research on the act of 'listening' together, reflecting on stories transmitted through water and the body, resonance beyond more than human beings, mythology and song from the past to present, and to the alternative realities.

Residency Overview
- Length: Approximately 1 week within the specified period (see google form link)
- Location: Jeju Unlearning Space

Provided
- Accommodation and workspace at Unlearning Space
- Domestic flight ticket to Jeju

Residency Output
- Sound file of 3 minutes to 30 minutes in length, Artist notes (text or images containing introduction, description, etc.)
- Format: Field Recording, Interview, Conversation, Sound Art, Composition, Playlist, Mixtape, Reading, Monologue, etc., free format

This call is open to artists and researchers interested in experimenting with the act of 'listening'. We welcome those interested or experienced in one or more of the following intersections: Ecofeminism, Hydrofeminism, Posthumanist Aesthetics, Historfuturism, Cultural Anthropology and Ethnography, Mythology, Folklore, and Oral History.
As part of the experimentation on methods and techniques of remembering and transmitting what is disappearing through the body, we also welcome formal experiments involving sound, audio, and radio archives, delving into the meanings and impacts of these themes.
The results created during the residency period will be published on the Unlearning Space Radio Project website. Together with others' work, exhibitions or collective listening events in the second half of the year will be planned.
Workshops and other programs can be conducted during the residency period. Please include your proposal in the application form below (optional).
